Pondicherry

Here at rising star, Monday through Friday are work days, Saturday is a play day, and Sunday is a rest day.  Today was your first Saturday here and we took an excursion to the beach town of Pondicherry.  It was not a swimming beach but they had some great shopping.  This little town was settled by the french, so there are some good french and italian restaurants which was great after a week straight of Indian food.  This was the first time we have been able to shop so we all went a little bit crazy.  1 dollar equals about 51 rupees so when they tell you that something is 300 rupees it sounds like a ton but really it is only 6 dollars.  We had such a great time and made many great purchases.

The Indian Ocean

One of the stores we went into had these bags to put your purchases in.  I was more excited about the bag than what i bought.  The store also had a bunch of other stuff made out of newspaper like jewelry, lamp shades, coasters, and much more.  who knew you could do so much with newspaper!
